Surfboards Hawaii

Surfboards Hawaii was started in the early 1960′s by Dick Brewer and John Price. The best big-wave guys in Hawaii surfed Surfboards Hawaii boards such as Fred Van Dyke and Buzzy Trent. Also adding to their legendary status were some of their shapers such as Dick Brewer and Ben Aipa. Some of the boards they were known to produce in the 1960′s included the Model A, The Buzzy Trent and the Stock model.

This famous brand is now owned by the biggest kook ever, a non surfer smoker fat ass Ed Clapp of Merritt Island Florida, who lived in Hawaii for a short time, allegedly known then to be a cocaine dealer to the black shorts gang, and the rapist of young phillippino girls under his influence. He bought the brand and continues to profit from new boards created today. These boards, although made by talented craftsmen, should be banned from the marketplace, because he only profits from the sale of the sticker, and has absolutely nothing to do with the design, manufacture, or integrity of the brand! My Dad recently passed away and I am trying to locate his pride and joy; this custom order board from @ 1968-68. He spent most his time surfing in Port Aransas, TX and occasionally in Corpus Christi, TX. I believe it to be a Surfboard Hawaii Model A (1966) or possibly a Stylist i (1967-68). Hi! I recently came across a Surboards Hawaii board, I was wondering if I posted a picture of it, if you could tell me more information about it?
I have been asking around for awhile now, but no one has been able to give me much information about it. I want to repair it myself, but if its rare, I want to get it repaired nicely and not make it my daily board.
Please just let me know !

I surfed Santa Cruz in the early sixties. In 1964 I quit my job and bought a ticket to Honolulu. I bought this board at Surfboards Hawaii and bummed around the island with it. Eventually I came home and used it here. Unfortunately, on a huge day at Steamer Lane I lost it (this was pre-leash days) and before I could get to it, it was broken in half on the rocks. Broke my heart.
