Greg Noll
Greg Noll is one of the most well known big-wave surfers. One of the first to charge big Waimea and Pipeline on Oahu’s North Shore, Greg built a reputation for being one of the best, earning him the nickname Da Bull. He learned to shape in San Diego under Dale Velzy. It was in Hermosa beach, CA he manufactured Da Cat surfboards and went on to having a successfull shaping career until giving it up in 1969 for a simpler fishing life-style in the Pacific Northwest. His stories are still legendary and his mark on the sport is one of the most recognized in the world.
