Gallery With Waves Forever: In The Shaping Bay With Legendary Shaper Skip Frye
Recently San Diego based Waves Forever shop owner Yuichi gave us a glimpse of Skip Frye in his shaping bay. Skip Frye is a living legend in the shaping world. He has been shaping surfboards since the 60′s and surfing since the 50′s. Skip was also one of the original members of the WindanSea Surf Club making trips to Hawaii as early as 1964. He shaped his first Skip Frye model in 1966 for G&S while having a very successful competitive surfing career as well. Today its no surprise his boards are sought after by surfers all over the world. Skip shapes everything from longboards to his fish design seen ridden by Tom Curren in his breakthrough movie Searching for Tom Curren out of his shop in San Diego, California
