Dean Edwards has over 30 years shaping experience is best known for his contribution to the rocket fish. He shaped out of Malibu from 1970 to 1978 and Santa Monica from 1978 to 1988. He has spent his most recent years shaping on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Dean….Pam Lewis here, friends with Jan Elliott. We were buddies back at Samo♡ I was telling my family a story about a boy in our high school class that we fell in friendship love with. Dean invited us to his home, parents amazing home in the Malibu Moutains over looking the Ocean. You showed us your bedroom with the walls covered in pieces of paper…drawings everywhere!!!! Drawings of short surf boards with 3 skaggs! My Son in Law said “Pam….Dean is famous and in all the Surfer Magazines ” Our family has telling stories time all the time. YOU my friend turned out to be a really Cool Story!!!! Love and Hugs to you. Where are you now? I am in Sedona AZ and Jan is on the Big Island♡

  Hi Pam, Was looking for Dean too. Sheila just bought a new house in Murrells Inlet SC. Lovin the beach. Sheila is teaching part time and I’m still Association Director/publisher. 4 grand kids. Kids are 27 to 40!! Happy as hell.

I remember Dean at Wilken back in 1970 or so. He cut me some slack on the price of a new board and I rode it 3 years straight, huge gains in range and ability. Hope all is well with him. PS Just got out of the water after a nice 3-4 foot surf…
